Progress at 384 Bourke Street

We are well on our way at 384 Bourke Street to being ready for the fitout phase of the project. There’s been plenty happening over the past few weeks from a construction standpoint including the installation of two new lift shafts within the building which will service the rooftop bar and the two-level restaurant.

384 Bourke Street, Recent Progress Onsite

The lift shaft preparation involves firstly digging the lift pits and pouring the concrete foundation before building the blockwork walls. Throughout the wall build process, we install reinforced bars inside the blockwork wall to provide additional strength so when the core is filled with concrete, the wall is then encased ensuring the correct structural load bearing framework for all the necessary lift mechanisms and running gear. Once the structure is formed, we then waterproof the concrete foundation and 500mm up the perimeter walls to ensure compliance. We also surround the lift shaft on the ceiling of each level with wooden support structures which will permanently stay in place even after the lift is installed.

Great work to the team on such fantastic work! Stay tuned for more project updates soon.
